Quick Start for:

Filers Required to Report and Pay Electronically

Legislation requires taxpayers to electronically transmit their payment for certain taxes, including sales tax, if a taxpayer paid $10,000 or more in a payment category during the preceding state fiscal year.  Taxpayers in the $10,000 to $99,999 category can make payments via WebEFT (electronic check), Web credit card, and TEXNET. Our WebFile web based program enables you to electronically file your sales tax report in addition to the payment.

Legislation was passed requiring taxpayers to electronically transmit their report for certain taxes, including sales tax, if they paid $50,000 or more in the preceding state fiscal year. Also, taxpayers that paid $100,000 or more in the preceding state fiscal year must electronically transmit payment information via the TEXNET system.  TEXNET is a payment only system.

For sales tax, we recommend WebFile if you have less than 30 outlets or tax jurisdictions.

In addition to WebFile, we have Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) software that is recommended for taxpayers reporting more than 30 tax jurisdictions.  The EDI option is available for sales, direct pay, motor fuels, IFTA, crude oil, and natural gas.
