Step 1: Set up your user account
- Create your own unique, easy-to-remember user ID
(at least 7 characters including numbers and case-sensitive letters; no spaces). - Enter your email address.
Step 2: Create a profile
This will include your name, telephone number, password and a security question and answer (minimum 5 characters).
TIP: Retain your user ID, password and security question and answer for the next time you access the system to report, including any case sensitive characters you used for User ID and password.
Step 3: Establish access to tax accounts
- Enter the 11-digit taxpayer number of the tax account you wish to access.
- A menu of account-related taxes/fees available through MyCPA WebFile will display. Select the type of tax/fee you wish to access.
- Enter the WebFile number for that account. (Previous Sales Tax Webfilers will also have an option to enter their PIN/password used in the old WebFile system.)

What is my WebFile number and where do I find it?
Your WebFile number is your initial "access code" to WebFile issued by the Comptroller's office. It is printed in the upper left corner of the tax report we mail to each taxpayer about four weeks before the due date of the next report. The WebFile number begins with the letters RT and is followed by six numbers. If you cannot find your report, you can contact us at (800) 442-3453 to request a duplicate report. We also can provide your WebFile number over the phone. You will need to provide identifying information from a previously filed report before we can release this confidential information.
