No Regrets Strategies
The following proposed strategies were submitted to the Texas Comptroller’s office by third-parties in connection with Senate Bill 184 passed by the 81st Texas Legislature, relating to “no regrets” greenhouse gas emissions reduction strategies. The Comptroller’s office assumes no legal interest in or ownership of the submitted proposals or the related views, opinions, concepts, or processes expressed therein. The Comptroller’s office does not endorse and has not approved of these proposals for purposes of SB 184; however, as required by the bill, the agency, along with an advisory committee consisting of representatives from the Railroad Commission, the Commission on Environmental Quality, the Department of Agriculture, the General Land Office, and the University of Texas Bureau of Economic Geology, is in the process of analyzing each strategy to determine whether it could result in a financial cost to consumers or businesses in this state. In conducting this analysis, the bill requires the agency to consider the total net costs that may occur over the life of each proposed strategy.
